I regularly make cake toppers for other cake businesses and for people who would rather bake themselves but do not feel confident in making their own figurines.

Cake toppers can either be made out of sugar paste or polymer clay. Clay keeps forever but costs slightly more than sugar. Sugar cake toppers can last for many years, but they will slowly fade over time unless they are kept away from daylight.
When it comes to cake figurines, there is a wide range of styles. The most basic cake figurine is one where there is no sculpting within the face. The face is a round ball, the eyes are simple circles of colour. The nose is a round ball, and a mouth is a semi-circle.
I also sculpt more realistic faces with detailed facial features. These are a lot more time-consuming.
The cost of the figurine depends on facial sculpting, the pose of the figurine, and the detail of clothes.

Figurines of people are often ordered alongside items that represent their hobbies, interests, and favourite things.

KEEPSAKE SCENES
I have recreated scenes that have then be removed and kept as keepsakes, some are re-creations of a memory like this one of a man hiding a sausage in his jacket, or this replica of the restaurant where the couple were to get engaged. It was produced just after the proposal!
